We help our clients figure out what ESG means for their business, get started on their journey to net zero, embed environmental and social sustainability into their strategy and then integrate this good work into their brand messaging and business development propositions.
For decades the environmental community has been calling for systemic change to capitalism and business. Now, a generation of leaders are listening to them.
But change is daunting, so we all need to help each other. We are here to help.
We work with our clients to help them answer the questions “what is ESG and what does it mean for our business?”
Our consultants help our clients to begin their journey to net zero and decarbonising their business, we work with them on issues as diverse as pollution prevention, the circular economy, carbon offsetting and biodiversity net gain (BNG).
Uniquely, we deploy our marketing and business growth expertise to ensure our clients are able to embed their sustainability credentials into the brand messaging and sales propositions.
Whilst we have immediate access to some of the brightest thinkers on E, S and G we find that most clients are focused on creating an effective environmental sustainability plan and the overarching challenge is working towards net zero.
When clients approach us to ask how ESG will affect their business we analyse their experience of exposure to the concept and to work out whether the focus should be on E, S, G or all three. We do find that most want help with their environmental impact but this cannot be distanced from social issues and the highest standards of governance.
Things have changed. Their isn’t a business in the market that is not affected by environmental considerations brought on by the climate crisis.
We believe that a business has between 3 and 5 years to embrace and display a different approach to sustainability in order to gain competitive advantage. After that it is unlikely a business will still be in the game if it hasn’t dramatically changed its behaviour.
Until recently, environmental issues in business tended to centre on regulation and compliance and was largely the domain of environmental professionals in large companies in sectors like construction and energy, where the business has a daily interaction with the physical environment in the course of their operations.
It is that stark. Our goal is to ensure our clients are the winners.
We work with our clients to assess their environmental sustainability challenges, looking at how they can reduce greenhouse gas emissions in their business and, increasingly, in their supply chain. From our initial discovery meetings we work out which issues are the most important and time critical. Ideally, we would assess, measure and build a strategy (given a blank sheet of paper) but we are flexible in our approach, so if a client wants us to advise on waste management or how they can explore carbon offsetting, we will do so.
We have challenged our traditional thinking on mission and vision and become more reflective on our own purpose. Ours is simple; to help forward-thinking, brave and open-minded commercial organisations to change embedded systems and transition to an organisation that maximises ROI by creating a fairer, safer, more trustworthy and environmentally sustainable world.
No matter the size and reach of a business every single one can be a pioneer. Our role is to support, mentor, advise and champion them in being pioneering.
Who do we work with?
In the spring and summer of 2021 we started to receive a number of calls from businesses in sectors as diverse as hospitality, tech, print and professional services all asking the question “What is ESG?” Suddenly investors, customers, staff, potential recruits and commentators all wanted to know what a business does apart from generate profits and returns to shareholders.
For boards simply hoping to survive and reawaken after lockdown this was a game changer and a systemic shock.
Xeed ESG, therefore, works with any business that accepts that despite soaring inflation, supply chain limitations, staff shortages, fuel and energy disruption, they need to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with the green revolution we are living in.

If there is one lesson we should learn from the climate crisis, it is that we need a new way of doing things. The systems of the last 200 years won’t cut it in the next 30.
